OUR HISTORY

Milford Village Veterinary Clinic was founded in May 1973 by Dr. Clarke and Dr. Heagren as a satellite office of Montgomery Animal Hospital in Kenwood, Ohio. From the beginning, the clinic was dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to the pets and families of Milford and the surrounding communities.

Dr. David Merry joined the practice full-time in July 1978, continuing the clinic’s affiliation with Montgomery Animal Hospital. After purchasing the practice from Dr. Clarke in 1994, Dr. Merry led its transformation into a thriving, full-service veterinary hospital, recognized for its skilled team, advanced medical capabilities, and unwavering commitment to patient care. An extensive addition in 1997 allowed the clinic to expand its services and provide even greater care to the community.

In January 2020, Dr. Emily G. Miller purchased the practice, carrying forward its long-standing tradition of excellence and compassion. Under her leadership, Milford Village Veterinary Clinic remains devoted to delivering personalized, modern veterinary medicine while fostering the trusting relationships that have been the heart of the practice since 1973.

Through the years, our team has stayed devoted to treating every pet with the same care and respect we would give our own. Faces have changed, and generations of pets and families have come through our doors, but our mission remains the same—to provide exceptional veterinary care and to be a trusted part of the community we’re honored to serve.

Milford Village Veterinary Clinic continues to be a place rooted in compassion and connection. We’re grateful to share in the lives of your pets, watching them grow, thrive, and fill your homes with love.

OUR BUILDING'S HISTORY

The building that now houses Milford Village Veterinary Clinic has a rich history that reflects both the evolution of the community and the enduring spirit of service. Originally opened as a Minnie Pearl’s Chicken Delight, the structure was part of a national chain known for its distinctive design and quick-service comfort food.

In May 1973, the building was transformed into a veterinary clinic when Dr. Clarke and Dr. Heagren established it as a satellite office to Montgomery Animal Hospital in Kenwood, Ohio. This marked the beginning of its new role in the Milford community, serving as a place of care and compassion for pets and their families.

Under Dr. Merry's ownership, starting in 1994, the clinic underwent significant renovations, including the addition of a surgical suite in 1997, enhancing its capacity to provide comprehensive veterinary services. These improvements allowed the clinic to continue its mission of delivering high-quality care in a welcoming environment.

Though the building no longer serves chicken dinners, it remains a space filled with warmth and care—carried on by Dr. Miller, who upholds its long-standing tradition of treating every pet like family.

Nearly five decades later, the building still stands as a familiar Milford landmark—a place where generations of families have brought their beloved pets for care.
